How It Works

As native English speakers we are often asked to explain different things about English to friends and classmates. Many times these questions are extremely difficult to answer, reminding us of how little we know about our own language. These questions can often prove really fun for us too, presenting opportunities to test our wits and see just how fast we can make up some sort of answer that sounds legitimate.

We thought it would be great to share this fun and turn these questions into a little game, giving all of you native English speakers a chance to try your hand at sounding legitimate, while providing non-native English speakers the chance to gain greater understanding from your ‘fascinating analysis.’

The game works like this. We’ll post a question about English, any of you who wish to can then take a crack at answering it. There are no rules so feel free to vote on the explanation you like the best, highlight bad arguments, complain that the answer really doesn’t matter, or write a book of an answer while explaining that you know everything so how could anyone doubt you.

If you have English questions to suggest, are having problems posting a comment, or in any other way desire to contact us please feel to use our email taiwaneers.com[at]gmail.com.

Let the games begin!
