Well I can’t think of too much to say. However, I had a spare moment and I wanted to break the cycle that I have gotten into of not posting.

Oh, I just thought of something I can talk about. For whatever reason, our website code wasn’t allowing a few of our “video” pages to be displayed. So for all you people who gave up on looking for new videos in the “videos” tab, today is your lucky day. I have fixed the glitch and three “new” videos are ready and waiting for your viewing. One is here from our 09-10 scooter trip around Taiwan and two are here from our recent trip to Thailand.

Oh, and another thing: Today I was googling “taiwaneers” to see what was out there and found out that The Daily Reviewer says we are “one of the best expat blogs out there” and even made us this handydandy html badge. I wish they would have told us. Needless to say I was flabbergasted.

As far as school goes this year has been an interesting one for me. My thesis is like a homework assignment that never stops hanging over my head. I find it really interesting to work on once I get seated and started but I never feel motivated to get seated and started so a lot of time gets spent doing other things instead. Besides the thesis I’ve had three classes both semesters so not too much time is spent on homework. I don’t see classmates near as much as I used to so that is very different. I’ve been working more this year at the public relations company I was hired on at last year. Here is a fun exercise for you all: Make up two names for two computer mice that are about to be released but are really exactly the same mouse, just two different names. Then write a press release for each and try and see how unique you can make each press release. Its really fun…really.

Emily is incredible. She has turned into an amazing cook that is not afraid of trying new things. She can make the classics and also surprises that taste fantastic. For example, try her buckwheat polenta. It is very 好吃. It is fascinating to me how she has gone from a not-interested-in-cooking girl before we were married to a this-is-so-cool-I-want-try-all-kinds-of-new-things girl. And I get to eat it all! I love my life.

We are still leading the singing regularly at church. I find I am able to worship better when I’m leading sometimes. Maybe its because I’m so focused on the song and don’t have enough brain-power for my mind to wander? In any case, I like it. Recently we’ve incorporated a call and response time into the worship using Psalms. Last week we did Psalm 10. I’ve really like it because as I get the slides ready and break up the calls and the responses it makes me really think about the speaker and the spoken to and the meaning of the words. Very cool.

I’ll be writing monthly for a new blog, Completely Devoted, which hosts many other wonderful women writers from all over the world. We are striving to encourage each other and women everywhere. My first post is up today. Come on over!

At the beginning of the month, I was really glad that there’s not much Christmas hustle and bustle in Taipei. God’s been teaching Michael and me both about waiting quietly for Jesus during the Advent season, and remembering what He even came for in the first place: our hearts.
However. Tonight I am lonely and wish there was a way to just get home for a brief spell by the fireplace, a moment to study the beautiful tree in silence, a song or two with the family. There’s a reason God gave us each other. YOU ARE the best gifts I ever received.
the best gifts.
