Laura took us three visitors – Rachel, Michael and me – to Xiao Liu Qiu(小琉球), a small coral island visible, on clear days, from her 16th-story apartment window in Dong Gang(東港). We took our scooters over on the ferry, camped on a sandy beach, made fires from coconut shells and driftwood, and generally had a marvelous time together.
